Two Bla villages reel under darkness since month, officials promise action | KNO

Baramulla, March 23 (KNO) : Twin villages including Kralpora and Ibrahim colony in Fatehgarh area reeling under darkness for nearly a month since their transformers are yet to be repaired. Residents of the areas complained that Power Development Department (PDD) from last more than three weeks they are out of electricity. They said that they have several times appealed to the concerned authorities, seems they play duff. One of the residents, Irshad Ahmad Mir told KNO that they approached the department many of the times but they 'do not care'. “We hit the streets twice and demanded the PDD department to take a required action, but nothing came out fruitful,” Mir told KNO. “We approached the officials for its repair but the concerned Junior Engineer misbehaved with the people,” they told KNO. "You are uneducated and uncivilized folk and you know nothing," they were allegedly told by Junior Engineer to KNO. Agitated by the PDD department residents said that their children suffer since they term exams are on the head. They said that if their demand is not fulfilled within no time they are forced to block the Highway. Executive Engineer PDD Baramulla, Nazir Ahmad Malik told KNO that they had have replaced the transformer two times but they both failed. “We will look again in the matter and hopefully the department would replace both the transformers in the area,” Malik told KNO. For misbehaving by the Junior Engineer with the people of twin villages, both Ex. Engineer and Chief Engineer PDD apologized on his behalf.(KNO)
